There are a few special moments here, notably on the title track, which is catchy enough that you'll find yourself singing along by the second chorus. "Shuffle On," an instrumental, shuffles along quite nicely, "Make Some Changes" has a nice groove, and "Soul Serenade" has just enough of a country inflection to be appealing rather than annoying. However, some of Watch What You Say sparks without quite catching fire; this disc could have done with a touch less production and a bit more energy.
